If the lights are on, then the problem is most likely the light sensor. If you do have autolamps turned off, then the autolamps are malfunctioning.

In civilian vehicles, the wiring for the sensor is visible in the dashboard. The police versions of the same vehicle do not have these mounting posts. If you do have the switch on a police vehicle, it will fit in a civilian model as well. In civilian cars, the wiring is identical. The only difference is the type of switch.

In these cases, it is better to leave your fog lamp unfitted. So, when you're looking for a replacement auto lamp, make sure that it's not the same as the one installed in your vehicle.
